diy underwear

Project designed during UARTS 2007 Design Charette.
The theme was ReMake with sub-themes: Kustom/High Design/Commentary, RetroFuture/Steam Punk, Handmade/MacGuyver/Repurpose, Pimp My Ride/Tricked Out, Hacked Design/Design Optimization. My group, Berk Asal, Sebastian Brauer, Isabel Donaldson, Jin Hong, Jackie Starker and myself, focused on Hacked Design/Design Optimization as we created three diy undergarment designs.

Pantylines: A design hack on the traditional "granny" panty,
perforations were cut throughout the underwear outlining other
traditional panty sizes. This allows the user to reduce the size
of the garment quickly and discreetly.

Pocketed: This pocket push-up bra responds to a common trend
among women in regards to carrying small portable devices in
the absence of a purse. By making minor adjustments to the
pocket provided for push-up padding, it can be used as a
pocket inside a woman's bra.

The Fumbler: a bra that has multiple clasps added to the back
of a bra, yet only one of which actually works. Multiple clasps
add confusion, humor, and guard against attempts made to
"penetrate" this system.
